Paatya

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Version 2026-10-15, in force from 15 October 2026

This policy explains when and how money paid through Paatya is refunded. It forms part of the Terms of Service.

It covers two kinds of payment: credit an academy buys from Paatya (sections 1 to 5), and courses a learner buys from an academy that sells them online (section 6).

1. No subscriptions to cancel

Paatya is pay as you go. There is no subscription, no contract term and no setup fee, so there is nothing to cancel and no cancellation charge. An academy can stop using Paatya at any time.

2. What can be refunded

  • Unused paid credit. The paid balance left in your academy, less anything already used, can be refunded on request, together with any GST charged on it.
  • Payments that failed or were charged twice. If money left your account but no credit was added, or you were charged twice for one recharge, we refund it in full.

3. What cannot be refunded

  • Credit already used for active learners, video storage, video streaming or an add-on.
  • Bonus, welcome and referral credit, which have no cash value.

4. How to ask

Write to support@paatya.net from the academy owner's email address, with your academy's address and the recharge concerned. We confirm what can be refunded within 3 working days.

5. How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the original payment method through Razorpay. Once approved, a refund is usually credited within 5 to 7 working days, depending on your bank. Where a tax invoice was issued, a credit note is issued against it for the amount refunded.

6. Courses bought from an academy

When an academy sells a course on Paatya, the academy is the seller, and its refund terms apply.

  • The academy's terms. Refunds are off unless the academy offers them. An academy that offers them chooses how many days after payment a refund can be asked for, and may leave some courses out. The terms are shown on the course page and at checkout before you pay, and on your receipt. They stay as they were when you paid, even if the academy changes them later.
  • How to ask. Ask the academy, using the contact details on its website. Within its refund period, the academy decides whether to refund all or part of what you paid.
  • How it is paid. A refund goes back to the way you paid, through Razorpay, usually within 5 to 7 working days.
  • Payments that failed or were charged twice. If money left your account but the course did not open, or you were charged twice for one course, write to the academy or to support@paatya.net, and it is refunded in full.
  • Disputes. If an academy does not answer, or you believe a refund is owed, write to us; see Contact and Grievance Redressal. Paatya may refund a payment itself where these terms, the academy's terms or the law require it.

A refund does not by itself remove the course. The academy decides whether access continues.

7. Questions
