Students in a batch
Add and remove students, what they are told, and what they see.
Add students
- Open the batch and click Add students at the top. The Bulk enroll panel opens with the batch chosen.
- Tick the students on the left and move them across.
- Leave Notify students by email on to tell them, then click Enroll.
There are no dates to fill in: students join on the batch's own dates. You can add students to a Draft batch; they see it once you publish it. You can't add students to an archived batch.
You can also add a student to a batch from their student form, where batches are listed beside courses.
See who is in a batch
Click Students at the top of the batch, or open Enrollments and choose Batches. Pick the batch in the Batch filter.
On the Enrollments page, the choice at the top reads Batches, Courses, Online tests and All, for the modules your academy has. A course a student has only because of a batch says via batch and the batch's name. You can't change its end date or remove it on its own: it is managed through the batch.
Remove a student
On Enrollments, open the student's batch row's menu and click Remove from batch, or remove it from their student page. From today they can't open the batch, or the courses and online tests that came with it. Everything they did is kept: finished classes, quiz attempts and any certificate. Their row shows removed, progress kept.
- Add them back the usual way, with Add students: the batch opens again with their work as they left it.
- Delete for good: remove the row a second time (Delete with their progress). Their batch progress is deleted, as when you remove someone from a course.
What students are told
- Added to a batch, when you tick Notify students by email.
- Your batch starts tomorrow, the day before it starts.
- New class, when you publish a class and tick Notify batch students.
- Your access ends in a week / tomorrow, before the batch closes.
Students can switch these off in their notification settings. You can reword the emails under Settings → Emails.
What students see
Students find batches on a My batches tab in My Courses. Each batch shows its dates and Upcoming, Ongoing, Completed or Access closed. Opening one shows its classes and, under Comes with this batch, the attached courses and online tests.
